Coastal Diagnostic Imaging is conveniently located at 3606 Henderson Drive (Extension) in Jacksonville, NC. We are proud to provide outpatient MRI, CT, Ultrasound, and X-ray services. We are also the only facility in Coastal NC that has a True Open MRI. This means it is open on both sides and there is no “tunnel” as with traditional MRI machines (see the first photo on the bottom row in our Center Gallery). It is ideal for claustrophobic and larger sized patients.
We are the area’s affordable choice. We accept all insurances, Care Credit, have self-pay rates, offer payment plans, and are a preferred Tricare provider. And, because we global bill for our services, patients only receive one bill from us that includes the charge for the service and the radiologist reading. On average, our cost is 40-60% less than that of hospital based imaging services.
We offer same day appointments and walk-in exams for some studies. Board-certified radiologists and registered technologists are eager to deliver the best in quality service and patient care. We provide access to online images to referring physicians and also give films on disc for surgical needs.
Our imaging center provides community-based onsite radiology staffing during primary business hours to ensure an accurate, quick turnaround on reports and easier consultation between the referring physician and reading radiologist. Radiologists are fellowship trained and reports are delivered to the referring provider within 24-48 hours of their patient’s appointment.
The radiologists who read images taken at this center are not employees of this center or employees of this center’s manager. Rather, they are independent contractors. That means they have their own liability insurance, and neither this center nor this center’s manager is responsible for the radiologists’ actions or controls their medical decision-making.

REFERRING PHYSICIANS:
We are open and accepting patients for all studies, including routine and elective exams. In accordance with CDC and American College of Radiology recommendations, we continue to exercise caution in patient screening and masking. Please contact our radiology team with any questions; we are happy to discuss your patient’s care.
PATIENTS:
In light of the COVID-19 outbreak we continue practicing enhanced screening, cleaning protocols and social distancing at all of our centers. Masking at this facility is currently required for patients and employees.
The health and safety of our patients and staff are our highest priorities. Our COVID policies ensure we are diligent with masking, social distancing and cleaning.
